The security and NDA for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was legendary.
Mark Hamill knows full well about “film secrets”, as he discusses the stresses of keeping his own for The Empire Strikes Back and the recent The Force Awakens in an interview with PC Gamer. One actor that might have a problem keeping the same secrets is C3P0 actor, Anthony Daniels. It may be Daniels having a little fun with his fans, but as a Director under so much pressure to deliver, not so much.
You may remember in an interview before the release of The Force Awakens, Daniels talked about his Twitter “blab” that got the studio hot under the collar.
“I said that I’d met so-and-so. An actor who plays a … thing in the film. A character. Immediately I received a message from Disney: ‘Remove the tweet! You’re not allowed to say that!’ Honestly. It’s a kind of Kremlin attitude.”
The Independent is reporting that Daniels is up to his old tricks! Again, teasing via Twitter about spoiling the story for Episode VIII. No response from Disney, but Director Rian Johnson answered Daniels on Twitter in a way that says it all.
Hopefully Daniels gets the hint!
