A Marathon of Fun: 7 Comical Star Wars Commercials that Aired on Spike TV

Spike TV, now Paramount Network as of 2018, was launched in 2003 and targeted a male audience with a mix of reality shows and movies. The network’s programming focused on high-energy entertainment, including action, comedy, and reality TV. Known for its edgy content, Spike TV made a name for itself with series like “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Ink Master,” as well as sporting events such as “The Ultimate Fighter”.

My favorite event was the many “Star Wars Marathons” that the channel would play, and these were advertised with some of the funniest commercials! The following are a sample of our favorites.

Ewoks

It is no secret at Star Wars Reporter that I LOVE the Ewoks!I have been a fan since I saw The Return of the Jedi in the theater. At times I feel alone with my Ewok appreciation as the narrative I keep reading is that they were a “merchandise gimmick.” Regardless, This commercial shows why you don’t mess with Ewoks! Yub Nub! #Ewok4Life

Darth Vader Plays Golf

I don’t think Vader would have the patience to play such a difficult game but thanks to the Force, his “natural abilities” shine through. It’s also funny to see the “Dark Lord of the Sith” taking part in such a mundane activity. Reminds me of the YouTube series, “Chad Vader.”

Boba Fett

I love how the commercial’s premise plays off the classic mispronunciation of Boba’s name as “Bubba.” Who better to do this than a couple of drunk idiots at what seems to be a convention? What happens next is deserved!

Star Wars Roller Disco

What says stylish more than a Stormtrooper at a 1970s roller disco? Just ask Mark Hamill about classic ’70s stylin’ . The result is some fun mayhem!

Star Wars Holiday

Nothing says “Holidays” like another Star Wars marathon announcement by singing Stormtroopers in a very Christmas-y-themed commercial. This one is a definite classic.

Star Wars Aerobics

Maybe if the Stormtroopers got a little more exercise, they would have had better luck in chasing down the Rebels. At least his headband was cool!

Tusken Raiders

Unless you want your day to end with a “Tusken Tantrum,” maybe you should watch your tone when addressing them, especially when the rest of their tribe is all working in the same department!

Star Wars on Spike TV Promo

The ad that would should up on the network to the delight of all Star Wars nerds!
