“Star Wars is fun, its exciting, its inspirational, and people respond to that. It’s what they want.” – George Lucas
Lucasfilm aren’t the only people who create stories and legend to the Star Wars galaxy; the passion of its fans adds to it. Talented creators have been making Star Wars–themed fan films that not only pay tribute to the saga but also expand its storytelling in unique ways.
Fan films, in my opinion, are a vital part of Star Wars culture. They keep the story alive between official releases, and help the universe grow in ways that even George Lucas might never have imagined.
Here are some of our favorite Star Wars fan films.
Hardware Wars (1978)- “The Original Fanfilm”
Released in 1978, Hardware Wars is considered the first Star Wars parody film. Using toasters, waffle irons, and other everyday appliances as spaceships, the film spoofs the saga’s moments in creative ways with minimal resources.
BOSSK: SCOREKEEPER
“An Elite Rebel Team infiltrates an Imperial outpost on a mission to secure an asset that has vital information. Unbeknownst to them, they are not the only ones on the hunt.”
BOBA FETT: NO DISINTEGRATIONS
“After the events of “Scorekeeper”, Bossk and Boba meet up and head to Honor’s Keep; a cantina on Mon Cala. There they reminisce of past hunts and we learn why the dreaded Darth Vader told Boba Fett”

STAR WARS The 212th Fan Film

Wingman – An X-Wing Story

A New Hope but Kermit is Greedo
I just thought that the concept and execution of this fun fan film was just too funny to not include! This time, it was Greedo (Kermit) that shot first!
Kyle Katarn – Rising Dawn
