For many fantasy fans, certain stories feel like you’re entering a new world. For me, it all began when I first read The Hobbit and later when I played the classic red box of Dungeons & Dragons RPG for the very first time. Those set me on a love of the fantasy genre.
With its haunting visuals and dreamlike story, Black Angel evokes a nostalgic fantasy feel. Directed by Roger Christian, it first appeared in 1980, shown ahead of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in select theaters. Then, it vanished! However, after 35 years, the film was rediscovered and restored for fans to watch, and even includes an introduction by Christian himself.
