“Wocka Wocka!” The Muppet Show Returns This February
To me, The Muppet Show was more than a tv show but, it is a cultural institution thathas been loved by families and fans since 1976. With characters such as Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and the rest of the Muppets brought together music, comedy, and celebrity guests, including Mark Hamill, Sylvester Stallone, and more. Now, the Muppets are coming back with a new show premiering on Disney+ and ABC on February 4.
Growing up, The Muppet Show was a weekly watch for my family. It was one of those rare shows everyone could enjoy together. The chaos backstage, the fun characters, and the genuine humor made it special. Knowing the Muppets are back feels like welcoming old friends home.
It’s “The Muppet Show!” Kermit, Miss Piggy and the beloved Muppet gang are back with a brand-new special event. Music, comedy, and a whole lot of chaos are bound to ensue when The Muppets once again take the stage of the original Muppet Theatre with their very special guest, Sabrina Carpenter!
Veteran Muppet performers Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman and Matt Vogel will perform the majority of the iconic Muppet characters in this production, supported by a talented team of additional performers. Dave Goelz, who has performed with The Muppets for over 50 years, was one of the performers on the original “The Muppet Show” and originated the characters Gonzo and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, among many others.
The Muppet Show returns Feb. 4 on Disney+ and ABC.
